| Musings from *yet* another board had to share this~ Quote:
On the lake by my neighbor's side is a grey duck that sits there in quiet silence, rocking back and forth with the gentle waves.
I often like to watch him from my bedroom window. He has a quality of infinite wisdom and tranquility. It seems nothing can sway him, come rain or shine, storm or wind. I want to be like him, I think to myself.
For five and a half years now I have been observing him and admiring that steadfast look about him
2 days ago I peeked out my window as Hurricane Wilma slammed into our place. The lake was an angry swath and rose with each furious gust and twist of the hurricane's tempestous onslaught.
My respect for the old duck grew as he seemed unfazed by the fury about him. He sat there gently rocking as always.
I peered through the rain and wind again thinking how strong the duck must be.
It was then I realized, after ALL this time, he was a decoy, a wooden bouy.
