| Thats understandable that Criminau wants to get rid of the special events center. He's got his softball complex. Hey i got an idea...let's pump those other WND funds into that place. Come on, the public voted for a package deal. Let's have a vote to see if we want to keep Legends Ball Park then. Let's have another vote to keep the soccer fields or not. Let's vote to get rid of the racetrack. It's not an uncommon thing in politics to group a list of items on a ballot together because they know they won't pass by themselves.
I don't know a lot about these softball tournies but when you have about 5 teams come in, with the top 3 teams getting money back, and some of the teams staying in R.V.'s in the parking lot. Other teams are local and don't stay at hotels and such. i dont see where a lot of revenue is coming from. (this isnt the case for every tournament, but for the most part there are low number of teams)
BTW: I'm all for Legends Park, the Soccer Complex, and the Racetrack. I see the good in those items.  |
