Just another Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Party

This sounds like fun! Have a couple of drinks, smoke a cigar and shoot the breeze about gun rights.

They do it different out West, well, at least some are different. Consider this invitation from Colorado’s Independence Institute:

“Slam it, smoke it, shoot it: Mark your calendar for our 4th annual Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Party on Saturday, June 24. Celebrate your diminishing rights to be politically incorrect at the most fun event of the year! More to come!

To ensure your ability to talk intelligently during the cocktail hour about how we “are winning the battle for gun rights,” listen to www.ivoices.org. Hear the Institute’s Second Amendment project director Dave Kopel detail “the victories for gun owners sweeping the country” in “The State of Your Gun Rights.” Kopel describes the national trend that followed the 1988 enactment of Florida’s concealed weapons law. Many feared a “Gunshine State.” OK Corral shootouts at stop lights. But, nearly 20 years later, the reality is a bit different. This 10-minute MP3 interview is a worthy investment of time -- especially if you intend to shoot skeet with liberty lovers. Remember the saying: An (intellectually) armed society is a polite (and free) society. That’s certainly true in the Independence Institute’s Wild (Fun) West.
