Stinko-Goodby'o is a celebration of a lost battle? Celebration of getting their asses kicked by the French?
I would bet that most mexicans-latinio's in this country have no idea what they are even celebrating. I am going to make it a mission to ask one/some of them what May 5th means or their understanding of what the Celebration is about. I thought it was a Celebration of their independence from Spain (or just another excuse to get drink in your front yard), but obviously I was mistaken. Would love to see a news crew stop them on the streets during the celebration and ask them. |
