In my opinion, the city manager should not have a country club membership at the tax payers expense. Esp. when the city manager proposes a 1.9 Mill Levy tax increase. If our city leaders are sincerely concerned about accountibility of spending tax dollars, I'd think they'd look at this issue! It may not amount to alot compared to the proposed 2007 budget (in excess of $34,000,000.00) but every cent counts. Just because we've done it in the past, does not make it right!

When the city proposes an increase to our property tax and the city commissioners then gives the city manager a membership at the C.C. something is just not right. (IMO) I'd think that if Jeff was really concerned about Dodge, he'd deny the offer and allow that money to stay in our general budget.

It was once said that he needs a quite place to hold private conversations with contractors, potential investors and etc. So I say, take them out to eat at a local resturant, (the city can pay for that, No problem!) and talk business behind a closed door. (his office)

This is just my opinion, but then again I'm just a tax payer and my opinion does not seem to really matter any more!
