Dodge City Days and Parking

Okay, we have now had a few DC Days events and I have a soapbox I want to get on.

Why can't people respect businesses and not fill their parking lot and then leave to walk 3 blocks away? Especially when it is clearly posted customer parking only. The lady at the antique mall posted 4 of her 12 spaces as customer parking only and left the rest for the parade and duck race parking. As you can guess, the entire lot was full of non-customers. She even went out and asked one to please move his vehicle when he took the last spot. He got upset and was so rude before he finally agreed. The pawn shop had their entire lot roped off so only customers could park. He has had so many problems with events in the past. I heard that the city barricades were removed from Ace hardware and the laundrimat. One was even destroyed instead of moving it. The banks have had to tow in the past, but I did not hear of any of it this year.

These are locally owned businesses who are glad that people are coming near their stores, but too bad no one can park who wants to do business with them.

Okay, I will climb down now. Thanks for letting me vent.
