I just wish we, the US of A, had learned the hard lessons of the 1970s when OPAC held us and the world hostage by turning down the oil taps and the federal government and private energy companies had poured a ton of money into R&D to tap alternative energy sources and told the Middle East to peddle their only wares elsewhere.
Then we wouldn't have to dance when some other country pulled the oil strings.
Ah, to dream of what might have been.
But, alas, reality has a way of popping its ugly head up at the most inopportune moment.
