We (as in Greater Kansas City, including the burbs) have shoveled money into such "public" projects as Union Station, the ball stadiums, etc. I put Boot Hill on the same playing field as Union Station. Probably tourist dollars ought to support it, but when there's a gas hike and people don't travel quite as much, or the last few years when a lot of people were unemployed and couldn't travel - the money has to come from other sources. I don't disagree with helping the Boot Hill complex financially, because most everybody gains from higher tourism. What I don't agree with is if there was money diverted from it's original intent and that's what you need to find out. If it was, somebody really does need to be called on the carpet. Get your ducks in a row, then attend a city council meeting and let them know you know.
