Not true Sugar. Back in the days when we were winning, you couldn't get another fan in the stands without a "shoehorn"! The Demon side was completely full, and alot of us fans had to sit on the opposition side, it was full too! We very rarely lost, at home or on the road. BAck then we had Goolsby's, Stubblefield's, Brown, etc, Masters was coaching, and we could get to the State, but couldn't seem to win the big one. I spent alot of November nights at State foodtball games.
Now, some of the other sports were lacking in fans. Baseball, wrestling, girls sports, etc, were pretty bare. They even had no cheerleaders, and had to raise money to buy uniforms. The DCHS excuse was, because football paid it's way, and the other sports didn't.
Simple fact of life, win and you will get more support. Lose, and people will start not showing up.
