The servers are currently working great and there have been no recent attacks/reinfections.
Just been told that our site may go offline several times today as they perform kernel security updates on the servers to defend against future attacks. They are saying that it should be down no more than a few minutes at a time as the servers reboot after any updates. So if you get the "page cannot be displayed" error the server is off, or a "database error", the server is most likely reinitializing. Try back in a minute or so.
Other hosts are now reporting attacks as well. At least we are ahead of the game with HostGator being the first to get hit. I feel the worst is behind us now as they have finally figured out what was causing the problems and are implementing measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
We can thank the Proof of Concept folks for publishing the malicious code that started these attacks and we can thank Microsoft for not patching IE in a timely manner.
I personally would like to thank all of you for your understanding and patience as we ride this out. It has been a very tense situation for your friendly admin as we strive to deliver the very best in service to you, our members.
