None of the money given to Boot Hill from the WND tax was spent on trying to get gaming in
DC or lobbyists. I know that for a fact and I'm sure we can verify it through Boot Hill or the City. All funds raised to seek gaming have been contributed by locals who think (thought) it would benefit
DC tourism.
Last word I've heard is it's our Commissioner-caused bickering, public flareups, and repeated re-voting on issues that has hurt
DC's chance for a casino. Topeka can read the newspapers. We're paying the price for 'not-playing-well-together'. That has nothing to do with Boot Hill's financial problems.
