| I didn't realize pickin's were so slim down there. That sucks. From what I've seen in other smaller towns, Wally's stays open later, has lower prices and decent customer service. Until they've driven all the smaller guys out of business. Then the prices go back to normal, they adjust their hours and, well....customer service is nonexistent.
I'm surprised to hear that they tell ya to take a hike for fund raisers, though. That must be a local thing. Up here, the K of C are there selling their Tootsie Rolls, they let a couple of Scout troops set up tables to sell excess cookies, the boy scouts sell excess popcorn and the firefighters have their boots out there for the Jerry Lewis Telethon.
I haven't ever bought groceries in Wally's - only once in Target. It just takes too much trouble to wrangle them to your car a football field away. Besides that, we usually only go to the local stores for milk and bread (and sweets), and there's a Hen House that's close.....with a bakery.....
