| The fact of the matter is that Immigration Enforcement Officers have been trying to work with Swift since Feb. of 2006. Swift has deliberately thumbed their noses at the Feds. for some length of time. Government officials finally said enough is enough and dropped the hammer on Swift.
Last night I spoke to a high-ranking gov't official who said it is very unlikely that other meat packing plants would be targeted.
I think I.C.E. just wanted to show the packers (Swift) that they had had enough and wanted to send out a loud message to everyone else. |
