This in today's Star:

Assistant district attorney Rick Guinn, who was a candidate for the top job and is Morrison’s chief assistant, said Tuesday he planned to leave the office. He said he probably will accompany Morrison to Topeka because he wants to continue serving as a prosecutor.

Also Tuesday, the Olathe law firm of Garretson, Webb & Toth issued a statement saying that assistant district attorney Scott Toth was joining its staff as a criminal defense attorney. Toth, regarded by many as the No. 3 person in the district attorney’s office, left in November after serving 18 years.

And this in today's editorial section:
Kansas City Star | 12/13/2006 | Kline’s selection was an insult to county voters

When Johnson County elected him to the AG spot originally (although I thought the whole state got to vote on that.....), he was an ordinary guy that seemed to want to put the people of the state ahead of any political agenda. This past year, it became painfully obvious he couldn't be trusted to do that.

Please don't blame JoCo for Kansas' mistake - we couldn't have elected him alone, so apparently more than just a few fell for it. Stuck with him, we are, though - I hope we can survive.
