Yeah, you are right that Dodge is not Wichita, nor is it Baghdad, but having been in both places for extended periods of time, I would have to say that Dodge is more like a Combat Zone than a thriving buissness community. It is amazing to me that another small town that I am from, only 30 min from Wichita, (apparently the crime capital of KS), has almost NO crime issues, NO gang problem, and NO illegals. I am thinking that the reason for that can be explained by that last sentence. NO illegals. I have always thought about returning to Kansas to raise my family when I get out of the Army, but I have not even given Dodge a second thought. Until something happens out there to ease the tensions, (Something like ummm MASS DEPORTATIONS OF ILLEGALS), I cannot see raising my kids there. My oldest knows some German, some Italian, I might be asking too much of her to learn spanish too. |
