| For those who are wireless you probably already know, but wireless has some inherent issues that need to be addressed in my opinion. Wireless is far more vulnerable to outside conditions such as weather, intrusions and latency.
How many wireless connections went down from the last ice storm? How many have had issues when the wind blows hard? I heard of wireless going down from a simple hard rain, fog or snow.
Wireless is far more likely to suffer from intrusions unless you have TCP V6 which still has it's own issues. Intercepting communication between wireless devices is extremely easy and with the right software even a novice can decrypt and use it.
For me the biggest issue is latency. Latency is the delay time it takes your device to send and receive packets/data from another device. My understanding is there is still a 3-4 second latency of wireless. Not such a problem from those who just need to browse the Internet, but it's instant death for gamers and with VoIP(Voice over IP) soon to become the rage imagine talking on your phone and having to wait up to 6 seconds to hear a response.
