| Part of the problem, since I have kids in highschool, is that the line between good and bad, right and wrong is blurred. Kids are taught to be tolerant to the point that they condone bad behavior because to judge it as bad makes you bad.
I taught my kids to look at things the way I do.......I can sympathise and empathise but I will not comprimise. A person cannot help what color they are, what economic level they are (we are talking kids, not adults here), their health or their family. I can feel sorry for someone because they come from a bad family but I will not allow that to be an excuse for bad behavior.
There were these kids that I knew were gang members at the Highschool. I pointed that out to my daughter and she told me "That doesn't make them bad." I told her if they do bad things, they are bad. I was told I was wrong because they may have good qualities. She told me that it is wrong, as she was told, to judge people.
This is what our kids are being taught. It is an anything goes mentality.
