Tricare's great for what it is. Hubby's retired military. We can have retirement healthcare benefits for a price. But it's not run efficiently and the servicing pharmacy changes every couple of years. Out with the old rules and in with the new. It's about the same as any other claim organization - sometimes you end up with someone who doesn't know the rules and overpays a claim and sometimes you end up with someone who does know the rules and denies the claim. There isn't a time that I pick up a prescription at the pharmacy and don't wonder how normal people make ends meet. If I have a $25 copay on a drug that's covered by my corporate healthcare package, we send it to Tricare and they pay all but $3 or $5 of it. So, again - how do uninsured or underinsured people make ends meet. They probably have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, use tissues instead of allergy medication, etc. I just thank my lucky stars.
