Not exactly, Don. 42 years ago the riverbed had lots of standing timber that evenly collected the debris.
Thanks to irrigation, we now have lots of dead trees.
Thanks to the Fernal Gummit, we now have a clean riverbed... with dikes.
The net result is such that the old debris will whisk through their "flood control project" and collect just east of town; and build a damn dam that only a beaver could outdo.
It won't be as bad as NawLens saw but it will be very dynamic.
