Ok - I'm not going to beat you up. Far from it. I don't disagree with what you said.....I just don't like it. It speaks volumes about our "justice" (or "injustice" might be better) system. The people that need to be sent away and the key permanently lost are still out here. Doesn't seem there's a lot that a slick attorney can't fix if somebody comes up with the money. Heck, just look at the website for registered sex offenders. That's not even ALL that should be there. Some, for one reason or other, fall through the cracks and never register. And nobody does anything.
I don't disagree that the boy was only a couple of years away from "being of age", but I think that he would never have met this horny broad if she wasn't a teacher in his school. Which makes it wrong, wrong, wrong. Under any other circumstances, I probably wouldn't have such a strong emotional opinion about it. We just can't let teachers get away with that!
My sons may well have been sexually active at 16 - they didn't tell Mom every little detail. But the thought of them having sex with a person who was in a position of some power of them makes me just as sick as Monica Lewinsky. It's just wrong. The media doesn't help, though. I'm sure there is lots of this that never makes it to the news.
OK. deep breath. peaceful place.
