You have just hit the nail on the head. Thank all of you. When we start asking as a group, who can we bring in to get things straightened out we are in deeper trouble than anyone is willing to acknowledge. The problem is not "who can we bring in", its "when will we become involved". The problem is not in the schools, its not in the Police officers, its in all of us. As a teacher I make myself available to all students, not just the "good ones" from 6:30 am till all students leave my classroom in the afternoon and that is sometimes around 5:00 pm. I have given my time to coach and "lead" these young adults, Coached summer soccer league, summer softball, officiated all types of sports etc. Where has the majority of the community been? Wanting to know...... When we can get someone in to take care of the problem.

I am not seeking acknowledgement for my activities, but I believe in the old addage, "it takes a village to raise a child." It is frustrating, not all want to be part of the solution. There are activities in Dodge for these "Gangbangers", they just need more people to lead them to the door.

What is the solution??? I don't have the answer, but one thing I do know is that these Children, are looking to the village for direction. They create their own direction when none is given. I will sit down with anyone to discuss the problem(s) and brainstorm the solutions. But I won't place blame on any one person or group.
