Thanks macdaddy. There are some teachers that care, and you sound like one, but do you get the support from the school to do what you need to do? It seems to me a teachers hands are pretty much tied when it come to good old fashion discipline.

When a student can stand face to face with a teacher(authority figure) and call them names, there is a serious problem with discipline. No big deal for the school but these kids get released on society carrying the same lack of discipline. These are the ones that join gangs, deface public/private property and shoot officers.

I'm not just laying the responsibility on the school system but they do have the ability, no, responsibility to educate our children. I think most public schools refuse to take responsibility when it comes to discipline thanks to parents who have managed to scare them with the fear of law suits. This is nothing new, what is new is that today the scare tactics work.

More and more parents are sending their children to small or private schools looking to give their kids a better education. Pretty sad when these public schools with all their funding dollars can't provide the education parents want.
