| I always heard they HAD to have them to you by the 31st....
but according to the IRS
"Your employers are required to provide you with Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement. Form W-2 must be mailed out or hand-delivered to you no later than January 31st."
I say..."Turn them in if they aren't postmarked prior to the 31st!!"
(unless they are willing to pay you interest on your refund, they shouldn't be able to break the law)
On another note....The IRS is not accepting e-files for Kansas until after Feb 3rd, due to some computer software changes they are making to accomodate a sales tax exemption for Kansas. I am ready to file mine but it wont let me.
