(unless they are willing to pay you interest on your refund, they shouldn't be able to break the law)
On another note....The IRS is not accepting e-files for Kansas until after Feb 3rd, due to some computer software changes they are making to accomodate a sales tax exemption for Kansas. I am ready to file mine but it wont let me. | You must be using the wrong software, because I filed mine last night/this morning at about 1:45am. Got my email from the IRS today at noon that said they accepted my return as filed. I used TaxCut by H&R Block, so I got people! Although mine wouldn't let me file on the 30th until I got an update that came out on the 31st.
