The only point where I might disagree with you Dutch may be splitting hairs on defining what is justifiable homicide as opposed to murder. I do believe in capital punishment and self-defense.

I normally prefer less government involvement on issues and abortion is no exception. The problem as I see it is that our society has become casual about abortion. If it was a rare event and only when it truly did risk the life and health of the mother I would be arguing for keeping the government out of it and leave it between the woman and her doctor. But abortion has become an acceptable method of birth control and I think that goes too far. The best argument that I’ve heard for government intervention is that if government is going to protect anyone the most innocent and helpless lives should be at the top of the list.
