| That's my take too - It amazes me that cities continue to put themselves in jepardy by relying on officers to make medical type decisions. It's like that tho in many cities cause you can't justify medical personal for a 10 - 20 inmate jail. Ususally when in doubt they run them by the ER but cities also don't want to absorb short term inmates medical care either. We used to refuse to accept them as inmates at county - meaning the cities would need to clear them if they wanted us to book them. Officers couldn't leave the inmate before they were medically cleared.
