I think the whole point is there is a question of how much the baby actually did mean to her - she had groceries in the back of the car - now perhaps she was shoppin and started bleeding - or perhaps that was just her ace in the hole to get out of possible arrest since she had numerous warrents and such. Doesn't sound like she was an upstanding model parent either........ there had been issues with her parenting skills in the past.

All that aside tho - they should have had her checked out - it only would have taken one of them off the street and a quick check at the ER would have taken care of this. They can always have her under arrest while she in the hospital - the law don't wait just cause you are ill. Runnin on expired tags to get to the hospital probably coulda been forgiven - the warrents would not have been but to lie and say you were on the way to the hospital when you clearly had been shoppin just pisses cops off. They are trained to be sensitive but blatent lying just makes most of em mad........ I can see how sumthing like this would happen - it shouldn't but I can see how it could and did.

PS - Memo - goin balistic and throwin fists only increases the charges and extends your stay! No one cares when ya do that cause then they just spray ya down and take ya in anyhow........... not a good thing to do! There are cops that would rather beat ya down then spray ya down -
