I have to agree with Wordy, once it goes in front of SCOTUS, that is Supreme Court of the United States in case you're confused, it becomes the law of the land not just the state that it originated in.
Case in point, Roe v. Wade was a Texas case that finally made it to the SCOTUS at which point it opened up the right for women to choose all across the country, not just Texas.
