And I guess that leads me back to my post. It seems to me that if we are only 4-5 officers short, then that would add about 1-2 per shift. Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't know the staffing hours of the PD. But with close to 5000 outstanding warrants (according to the Globe on Sat talking about the amnesty program) an additional 1-2 officers a shift just doesn't seem to do this town justice. That's a warrant for 1 in 10 residents in Ford County! I know cops can't be everywhere all the time and for me, they've done a great job! (Thanks officers!) To me, the average citizen, it just looks like adding 1 or 2 more officers isn't going to deter much crime. We need more! But perhaps, that's the vigilante in me!
