I guess all I can say is I respect your opinion I just don't agree.

I used to live in Las Vegas and can honestly say I liked the community far better than what we have now. I lived in an apartment complex and I don't remember ever hearing about crimes like we have in dodge.

We do, however, all agree we've got a real problem we just don't agree on the fix.

I view gambling as the heart of a package that could turn this town around. I have stood behind the WND project for two reasons. 1. A potential boost to tourism, 2. It was voted and passed by the people. Now after seeing the remarks by some of our *cough* leaders I believe the project would be a waist without a casino.

Dodge City needs an enema. Sure we could use the proposed monster truck arena for the Coyote races and get Bank of Americana to supply credit cards to illegals to keep the hotel full, but all that will only multiply the problems we have already. It's going to take an aggressive PACKAGE if we ever hope to become attractive to visitors. We need to remove the power out of the hands of those who have no concern for quality of life in dodge.

I believe with the proper promoting/backing the WND project could boost the draw to Dodge City, but unfortunately with our current leaders it would fail. A casino would take that control out of the hands of those who are happy to keep dodge a boarder town, and make tourism a viable option. Without it the WND project will only make matters worse.

Without gambling we might as well use the WND funding to build a new jail/prison because we're going to need it.
