Normally it's the HutchNews' Editor who is out of touch with reality but I'm beginning to see a pattern of out-of-touch-ness from Ethanol Promoters coupled with a severe lack of logic from the News' reporting:
Quote:
Rod Kreie, project manager for Nexsun Ethanol, said ICM was chosen because they wanted a Kansas company and because Nexsun is familiar with ICM's work on some of their other projects.
The design work won't be too complicated because ICM has a standard 40 million gallon facility model. Kreie said they will have to fit the model to the location chosen for the plant.
The land belongs to the Grant County Economic Development Corp. Nexsun signed a deal in January for the option to purchase the 94-acre plot.
Beyond the 35 well-paying jobs, the plant could boost the Grant County economy by encouraging spin-off business, Kreie said. He didn't have a dollar figure for the economic impact but said it's substantial.
Kreie said the company is predicting the plant will generate $90 million in revenue annually.
The biggest drawback cited has been the use of water. With the depleting aquifer, any significant new water usage raises questions. Kreie said the facility will use around 600,000 gallons a day, and while that might sound like a lot, he said, in comparison, an acre of corn uses 1 million gallons of water a day.

For those of you who went to publick scruwell and don't understand the absurdity in this reporting: a million gallons per acre per day would require one adequate (694 gallons per minute) irrigation well ............... for every acre.
Rod Kreie, project manager for Nexsun Ethanol, is not a very good liar; or he truly doesn't understand his industry.
