Unfortunately, the spam posting bots have discovered DodgeBoard.com.
Spam bots have been attacking bulletin boards since the beginning of their existence. CAPTCHA images (that picture with funky looking numbers in it) have helped to reduce this problem but the spam bots have gotten much smarter and are now overcoming the CAPTCHA images. Therefore we have introduced an added NOSPAM obstacle for them to overcome.
We have introduced a human question. This should be very simple for any human to answer but next to impossible for a spam bot.
This question will appear in addition to the normal CAPTCHA image and in the following areas:
- Registering
- posting anonymously
- using the "contact us" links

We all hate spam. This should alleviate the recent onslaught from the spam bots and enable us to keep the anonymous area open for those wishing to post without registering. We don't wish to stifle the speech of our posters, even the unregistered ones.
Most importantly, the last thing we want is for you to have to wade through spam on DodgeBoard - you get enough of that in your email.
