I know of 3 Army Reserve Fire Fighting Units in the state of KS. I have a friend in one, it is in Garden City. They have 2 trucks that have all the equipment you would need to help. I talked with him the other day and he told me that they would not get called up to help because they are not NG, or state money. It would take the gov. to ask for federal help. But she would have to pay the bill. He said it has some thing to do with the color of money. I know there are other Army Reserve units out there are they being used? So is it the lack of equipment or just don't want to pay the big bill? I would think that you would do what it takes to get the people back on there feet and get it cleaned up. |
