I agree with you Army, I just don't like the idea that because he is a police officer he should be treated any different than anyone else. This board has already tried and hung this man. The KBI is doing the investigation and they are the ones that should be held accountable for the information everyone is wanting.

The important thing is he is now in custody and yes because of the OJ he pulled he will be seen as guilty. If he is then I hope that the wrath of all justice will come down on him.

I think it is a bad thing that everyone in America doesn't understand how the justice system in America works today. It is a much different system than it was a hundred years ago, and even different from 20 years ago. It doesn't always work out smoothly even to the Police officers frustrations a lot of the time. Unfortunately the System is working harder in favor for the criminal than what is just and right.

But lets not loose track of the focus here on this board. You cannot arrest and detain anyone on suspicion alone, they will be out on the streets in a heartbeat. The criminal defense lawyers will see to that. So in this case, Yes he may have been a strong suspect but if you arrest someone even if he is guilty you make it harder to prosecute them if you throw their name and face all over the local media. Someone will scream unfair. That is the unfortunate situation we live in now. You have to be judicial in what information you put out to the public as do you have to be judicial when you put it out to the public. That is why you see law enforcement agencies more careful in what and when they say anything.
