How often do police officers go through pshycological testing? I would think that with that kind of job, mental health would be somewhat of a priority. I am sure there is always some type of counseling available, but is there anything mandatory? Also, is there mandatory reporting if an officer hears or believes something about another officer?
The DCPD has just suffered a HUGE black eye, I wonder how they will ever recover. I am sure there are many men and women on the department that are in total shock. I would think that if any officer would have known something about this situation, they would have reported it. I would not want to work with someone armed that was a danger to myself or others.
Also, in previous posts about the officers salaries. I believe they knew the wages before the accepted the job. Most are police officers because the love the job. They take pride in helping others. I never knew a rich cop, unless they were dishonest. I hope the men and women of the DCPD continue to wear that uniform with pride.
