The fact is, it doesn't matter where you decide to add to taxes, ya'all are gonna pay it. If you add property tax, everybody pays - even the renters (their rent will go up the same amount as the owner's property tax). The property tax will also add money to goods and services, as merchants and service folks will have to raise prices. If you just add sales tax, it will be tied to the cost of goods & services sold. That's it. You have a much broader tax base if you add to the property tax. Course, you could choose to add to just the commercial property taxes, but you'd still pay it when you buy goods and services......there really isn't an efficient way to spread the taxes soley to visitors from out of the area.

Is the government down there so inefficient that your taxes are that high? It's just not right. Your property taxes are almost as high as mine, yet I have a lot more public services. I don't get it.
