Consumer Reports Best/Worst Cars 2007

I just picked up a copy of Consumer Reports for Apr 2007. It has the best and worst cars and ratings for just about everything you can think of that deals with a car, truck, van or suv.

Here's some things I noted.

Top Picks in 10 categories... Not 1 U.S. Company
Most Comfortable....Not 1 U.S. Company
Best Fuel Economy...Midsize/large sedan. 1 U.S company out of 10
Best Vehicles under $25,000.....4 U.S. Cars out of about 30
Most Reliable: A couple of U.S. cars but mostly Jap cars.

I discovered that few U.S. cars are built in the U.S. 13 models are built in Mexico and 18 in Canada. 46 Imports are built in U.S.

I'm not sure what this says about U.S. Automakers but according to consumer reports I would say if you are going to spend money on a car that MOST of the time the better buy would be a Toyota, Honda or Nissan.
