I've had more jobs than I care to admit and most every one was started at minimum wage. I've always been taught you get paid what you're worth or move on. I know you might say moving on isn't always an option, but I just don't believe that. I've always been able to find a job if I really wanted one.

I remember telling one employer, when asked what kind of money I was expecting, I'll work for you for 2 weeks and then you decide what I'm worth. If it's enough I'll stay, If not I'll move on. I worked for that employer for 5 years and the job was to start out at minimum wage.

I've never stayed at minimum wage more than a few paychecks. Maybe I've just been lucky in my 40 years of various jobs but I'm more inclined to believe you get paid what you're worth. Any employer knows the value of keeping a good employee.

I just don't see the benefit behind being forced to pay more for someone who has no ambition to do the best job they can.

Minimum wage goes up and so prices go up to compensate. Minimum wage still won't help them live any better we just all pay more for it. Where is the logic in that?
