Just depends on your prefrence I suppose. I've heard a few guests say they will no longer set food in Travelodge because they can't keep things up in the room, mainly maint. stuff. It's been so many years since I've even set foot in that place I can't say anything first hand, but that's been the only complaint I've heard. Same goes for a few of the hotels here, owners/mgrs don't want to spend money to keep things up, but expect money to keep rolling in. I wonder if they realize once you have one dissatisfied customer their bound to tell a few more and it keeps going, ecpecially since a good portion of the hotels are filled w/ repeat corporate business they will never return if mistreated. Econolodge got kicked off Choice chain because they couldn't keep up with standards. That's a terrible terrible place and the owners aren't the least bit concerned. Just from their tone on the phone I would never consider going there.
