| [quote=Zeb;44011]Just my opinion,
Well that pretty much sums up the mentality of an LEO. I am god, everybody owes me something.
I can honestly say a LEO has never helped me out EVER!!!! I owe you nothing!! You chose your job and I chose mine.
...That's my impression of of ALL LEO's.[quote]
None of us think we are owed anything besides a paycheck and training to do our job to the best of our ability. No where did I imply that we are owed something by you or anyone else.
I am sorry you feel the need to classify every LEO based on the actions of one or a few. Do you do this with everyone? Get a bad meal at a steak house therefore never go out for a steak again? Computer crimes can be very tricky in the first place as to where the crime actually occurred. Some would day it is where the victim lives...others would say it is where the suspect lives...and others would even say it is where the item was purchased from. If someone used another person's ID to make a purchase, then Kansas says it is ID theft. If the person who is the rightful owner of the ID, or name, or whatever, lives in Dodge City, we would do the initial report, then follow up with the agency where the suspect (if there is one) lives. Obviously a DCPD officer has no jurisdiction in Boulder, so we cant go there to enforce any laws - we have to depend on the Boulder PD to interview and do follow up, then request a warrant if applicable.
You obviously have had bad experiences with LEOs and I apologize for that. Was it something you did wrong, or did you not think you got the attention you deserved? Was this on multiple ocassions or was this just the one incident you have had a bad experience with?
You are correct in saying I chose my job (though to me it is a career, not a job) and you chose yours. I have no idea what you do for a living, but I would assume it is in a field I know little or nothing about, and therefore would not think I have any right or power to tell you how to do your job. Many people think that LEOs can just do whatever they want to correct problems - in reality, we have rules and laws we also have to follow. |
