Army,

I don't know that I do have all the answers but I believe Dodge City was founded by people who were honest, hard working individuals. We, for the most part, still are. Sure, we have our problems, but what community doesn't?

I very seldom agree with Bob Wetmore down at the Chamber, however Dodge City and Ford County are moving ahead faster (economically) than most others in sw ks. I did some visiting with him the other day and he directed me to statistcal page that gives alot of info. I wish I could remember it. He'd be glad to visit with anyone about this issue, just call him.

Several of our city commissioners have said in the past that we live in an agricultural community and we should looking that direction for new business. I agree withe the agri. community, but I also believe we need to stretch our boundries. Why limit business just to agriculture and the packers? Let's broaden our focus and start looking at the manufacturing industry.

Luker, on several occassions has pointed to health care industry. Excellent idea!

Dodge can continue to grow and prosper. It'll take some people with vision, people with determination and committment.

I think we can do it better and faster without gambling. No need for me to get into why. I think you know my reasons.

Entertainment is fine and dandy. People watch T.V., go to the movies, the races, boxing matches at the C.C., basketball and baseball games, etc. for entertainment. Entertainment is neccesary. It diverts our attention away from our work and stress and from other responsiblities. However, a community can not survive just on the entertainment venue. We need to diversify.

Anyways those are just a few of my thoughts.
