When I was there - there was a company looking to build independent living and was toying with long term care - but the study they did showed there wasn't a good enough return on long term care. They wanted to be private pay and there isn't enough folks to support that. Most whiz thru thier money within 2 or 3 years - then it's all medicaid money - and that's not the kind of reimbursement you might think it is.

Forget the health care - stick with the gamblin
... never studied economics, huh?
