Gee, when the money for the Event Center is used for the parking lot next to the casino, will that count as using tax money? When the location of both is brokered by a board member of both, will that count as conflict ? And the Ford County Attorney being on a gambling board -- hmmm, when is the next election ? Wonder which member of the public majority of Dodge City (ie, yes, representing the Hispanic community) will be on the board of any of this ? Time to say -- No Thanks. Given how this same group (basically) has managed other facilities (ie., Boot Hill, building Events Center ), let that be the decision maker on your vote. (And I would think later it should be a legal issue whether any of the elected/appointed officials can vote at all on the Events Center issues -- IF it is going to be a major portion of their casino -- and I wonder how many of the list already have shares of Butler ? ). |
