In getting ready for my friend's visit, I was snooping around trying to find things for us to do. And you know, I'm actually kind of impressed at what I've found for us to see and do. Boothill gunfights and variety show, Cowboy Band has their summer concerts in the park, Depot theater is having a show, Raceway Park is hosting races, All 4 Fun, Carnegie Arts, Dalton Gang Hideout, St. Jacob's Well, and the Dodge City A's are playing ball. And we do have some good restraurants like Kate's, El Charro, Peppercorn's, Sarocha's, Tacos Jalisco's. Plus, other things I find interesting in
DC that others may not, like our family farm, the Spearville Windmills, a western KS sunset that goes for miles.
When you look at it this way, perhaps we do have a pretty good little town. While the CVB did stretch the truth a little, there's nothing wrong with a using a little writer's liberties now and then.
