Many of you are already aware that the site was down for several hours on Tuesday. For the past several weeks there have been problems accessing the site. You may have also noticed that while we are up and running at the time being, many of the boards features have been turned off. This is the only way we were allowed to stay up, since our host believes one of the scripts we use is causing issues. The script in question is VBSEO, the script that provides crawlability for search engines. Other features such as top-stats and shoutbox have also been disabled to lower cpu usage.

We are in a testing phase right now, as the host has agreed to help us test the script to nail down the problem. If they are successful in finding a solution, then all will be well. However you may see small periods of downtime during the testing.

If the testing is unsuccessful and we are ordered to keep the script turned off then we will be forced into looking at other options. While it is possible to leave the script off temporarily, leaving it off permanently will jeopardize the sites exposure to the outside world. Since we spent a small fortune for the software script that is in question, we may have to jump ship to another host to get the issue resolved. We've done this before when we moved here from Registerfly, so we all know what to expect. It was pretty seamless but we all remember how we bounced back and forth from old/new boards for a couple of days.
