| The parade doesn't start at the park and end at the civic center? When did that change? They used to always do that! Throwing candy from the floats has been banned up here too. Too many people were hit with hard candy and a couple of times tots ran out to get it without thinking about oncoming floats. Too dangerous cuz it's just so hard to keep the little ones corraled. An organization I belong to had a float in Old Shawnee Days up here one year - - we dressed up as clowns (can you just imagine?) and handed out coupons and candy. But not all the parents allow their children to take the candy anymore.
