| Highwayman,
Back to the thread,
Here's my two cents worth...
The Democrats want the illegals in the U.S. for votes and the Republicans want them to stay for cheap laborers. Regardless of what any party says nothing is going to happen to kick them out or to keep them from coming across the boarder. It's all just a big game the policians play to get votes and make boat loads of money at our expense.
I would think the illegals would lean toward the Republicans because they are the ones suppling jobs for many illegals. The Republicans want to create tax breaks for big corporations so they can use that money for expansion of their companies. Which would in return create more jobs for illegals.
The Democrates are also being two faced by gaining support from big labor unions by pushing the idea that U.S. companies should hire U.S. workers. (something the unions like to hear). I found it funny that the U.F.C.W. union at Cargill Meat Solutions supported the Democrats during the last election. My question to them was: Why? Democrats want to place a heavy tax on Corporations like Cargill. Which will keep them from expanding and hiring more illegals. Why then, do you support the Dem. party? Also asked them if Pres. Clinton did alot to help illegals. According to everything I've heard Clinton was tough on immagration issues. One of the toughest Presidents on immagration in a long time.
Oh well...enough said!
