| Personally I don't think its as much to do with the dogs demeanor as it is the breed. By breed I'm talking about the design much like a shark. Designed to to kill. Them massive jaws and neck work in harmony with it's natural want to hold on and shake the life out of its victim.
Like I said, having a big cat, designed also to kill, is dangerous and even though it could be nothing but a big kitten, all it takes is one mistake and someone could pay with their life. That mistake could be completely out of the owners control.
Say while gone the house catches fire and your pit bull, already freaking out, is loose because a fireman/policeman opens a door. There is a reason these dogs have been targeted as dangerous. And I don't think its just paranoia but experience.
I've been bitten before by dogs whose owner thought "they don't bite" and "would never hurt a flea." I'm just thankful they weren't pit bulls.
