Double Standards?

From what I understand, right or wrong, our city commissioners are suppose to be individuals who set an example for all of Dodge City and the rest of the County and State.

Terry Lee, city commissioner, was crucified when he filed bankruptcy. The press picked up on it and ran story after story concerning his personal financial matters. Then Kathy Ramsours, in coordination with our County Att. tried to pin a felony on Lee, which our C.A. later dropped for lack of evidence. The Globe also ran story after story about that issue.

Now, we have a City Commissioner, Jim Sheer, who wrote a hot check to the tune of $500.00. Now if I'm correct, THAT IS A FELONY! Jim made a complete ass of himself at Tommys' Auto car lot. He was ranting and raving, concerning an issue that meant very little to anyone. He just thought he deserved special treatment. He even threated the dealership with taking them before the zoning board and having their lic revoked. He said he could do it because he was the mayor of Dodge City. (which at that time he wasn't) He was a commissioner not the mayor. I guess being mayor for a year went to his head and he liked the idea so much that it just stuck with him.

Globe headlines should have read: "CITY COMMISSIONER CHARGED WITH FELONY"

Why hasn't the Globe wrote any stories about that? Maybe Jim is one of the good 'ol boys (unlike Terry Lee) that always does what he's told and as a result he's not a threat to the powers that be. Jim can always be counted on to vote the way he's told. (It has also been reported that if you wave a Lolly-Pop in front of him he'll roll over.)

Come on City and County Commissioners start acting like you were elected by the people. People you are suppose to represent. Show abit more class than expected and maybe, just maybe, our city and county would be better off.
