I am a loyal HyVee shopper. They are employee owned store and it shows. If you can't find something - they take you to it, right away. They stop whatever they are doing and go. They also don't chit-chat a lot with each other. It is a very friendly store, but they are always working. Cleaning, straightening, stocking shelves, etc. High School and college kids come back and work summers and Christmas break for years. The managers even sack groceries when it is busy - and call me by name.

Our WalMart is a pretty good store too. It is just a regular Wal-Mart, but the Super WalMart is slated to open in about 6 months. I will still grocery shop at Hy Vee.

My local Wal-Mart has had the same core group of employees as long as I can remember. They are friendly and the store is clean. Gets a bit overwhelming at Christmas though. They really pack the stuff in - who buys all that crap?

I have to say - I don't miss good old Dodge much. It has seen better days. I hope it can rebound, but I am really glad I am not raising a family there. I loved Dodge when I lived there - grew up in the area. But after leaving and coming back, whew! It just has lost all of its shine.
